CHAIRMAN'S
ADDRESS - PADDY CORSCADDEN

It is with great pleasure that St. Brendan’s Gaelic Football
Club welcomes you to its official website. There has been a
lot of work that has gone into making the website a success
and I must thank Paul Tierney, Packie Hughes, John Collins
(Irish World) and the committee for their
dedicated efforts. To date 2005 has been another successful
season in the history of the club. The London Senior league
was won for only the third time and added to the ones that
were previously annexed in 1998 and 2004. The Conway Cup was
also won in June with victory over Round Towers and the
Reserve Championship was also lifted with victory over the
Kingdom Kerry Gaels and mindful of the fact that we are into
the semi-final of the championship as well as the
quarter-final of the Tipperary Cup, 2005 could prove to be
the most successful year yet.
With our 50th
anniversary coming up in 2006, it would be very fitting if we
were to celebrate this occasion as London Senior County
Champions.
I should also
mention that St. Brendan’s has a flourishing youth policy
and this is being nurtured along under the watchful eye of our
Youth Officer Paul Hughes. Our thanks and gratitude go to him
and his band of helpers for the sterling work that is being
done in this area. Hopefully, the website will aid in this
development.
Like all clubs, St.
Brendan’s rely on sponsors and fundraising to survive and I
must take this opportunity to thank
Packie Hughes (Hughes
Taverns)
WJS Building
Services
Fox Plant
Edward
O’Reilly (E.O’Reilly Groundworks)
Johnny Whyte (Celtic Construction)
John Houlihan (Houlihan
& Co. Excavations Ltd.)
for their continued
support.
Our thanks also go
to those people who continue to support us with our Golf Days,
Nights at the Races and Raffles. Your help is much
appreciated.
I hope that you
enjoy browsing around all the various sections of our website
and if you are new to London and would like to join a friendly
and successful club, either as a player or as a social member,
then please feel free to get in contact with any of our
members for details.
Is mise,
Paddy Corscadden
(Chairman)
(October 2005)
