CLUB'S 50TH ANNIVERSARY

June 2006 - The Gala night was an outstanding success with over 300 patrons in attendance. Great to see so many people travel over from Ireland to mark the Brendan's fiftieth year celebrations, which goes to show what the Brendans club means to so many people.

There were a number of special guests, including Benny Tierney (All Ireland winning goalkeeper with Armagh and a renown guest speaker). Other photos from the night are located in the photo gallery.

Celebrations (September 2005)

2006 will see our club reach its fiftieth year in existence. This is a significant landmark in any club’s history and we are intending to celebrate this milestone with a variety of events and activities.

However, nothing has been planned yet and we are seeking your help. Among the ideas discussed:

1.      the putting together of a book to commemorate the club’s history to date.

2.      the organising of a pre-season tournament involving teams from Ireland.

3.      the holding of a ‘Sportsman’ dinner dance complete with an auction of memorabilia and guest speakers.

4.      a trip abroad to possibly participate in a tournament e.g. Madrid.

5.      having a match between the 1994 championship team and the 2002 team.

If you have any other ideas to put forward, please let us know and more importantly, if you would like to be involved in helping to commemorate the year in any way, then please let us know.
