In their first competitive outing of the year St Brendan's enjoyed a comfortable win over Kingdom Kerry Gaels in the Tipperary Cup on a wet Saturday afternoon in Rusilip with a scoreline of 2-10 to 0-02.
A perfect start was made when, after 4 mins, Paul Moyne played Paddy Bowles through to place the ball accurately into the net. This was followed quickly by points from Jarlaith Harte and Simon Cullen. KKG responded with 2 points , the second one coming after 17 mins and proving to be their last score of the game.
Further points were added to extend the lead through Harte and Bowles before, on the stroke of half time, a second goal was scored by Pikie, who shocked many of the watching crowd by getting his shot on target. The extra shooting practice at training starting to take effect.
